My life and Good News

Happy Birthday Mrs_Talksalot

I'm so glad you were born and continue to celebrate birthdays.  You are forever young in my mind as you cannot ever catch me.  Unless I quit and I don't intend to not stay out in front for quite some time.

I remember having a lot of fun playing with you when you were little and now your kids are older than that.

I remember chatting up those boys at the "Last" concert for the Who.  I think we were chosen as 'fun girls' because we pogo'd the entire B52 set.  I remember them saying that they were playing 'just for us'.  Then we had to keep dancing, we had no choice.  The lesson there, and I think you got it, is to have fun nomatterwhat.  and we totally did.  And luckily the Who fans were peaceable enough folk.

I remember your wedding and how it honored Mother in all her missingness.  That was really sweet and meaningful for me.  And I know she'd've loved it, (or maybe she did... She seems to be hanging around.)

Now I see you only occasionally in the flesh and all the time online.  I am appreciating the online stuff. It's good to keep in touch...

I hope you are having a super fun 4th of July and that there is easy fun, that you don't have to work too hard for.

My blog's name is ironic now...

It's Myra Speaks and I so rarely do. I enjoy reading everyone else's life. So here's the dope...

I'm going to be 50... 50 whole years old. I feel the anticipation of birthing myself into the 2nd 1/2 of life (optomistically). I am booked already for Friday, and Monday evening. Sunday evening is open. I am willing to let people who can't sing try for some version of the birthday song. I think I most prefer the Turkish version as almost no one knows it...

For a present, I am asking for letters saying why I am beloved, great or more than tolerable, if that is all you can stands. I can't believe I will be so mature and just in a few days! (Monday is my 50th anniversary of life) should I visit Broward General. Ha ha!

I am working this week. Until tomorrow, and then it's back to no work and no prospects. I am hoping to put an end to the whole no prospects thing. It's become tiresome. It's come to my attention that full time would be nice but it's not terribly necessary... I hope to have the choice again soon. I will be glad on Monday to put up my resume with the new position on there. It's going to be fabulous.. All the calls I will get.

The advantage to living so on the edge is that I have the opportunity to stay in the present moment a lot and it's beautiful here. No worries. Funny thing, now is usually pretty good for me. The future is terrifying but now is okay. It's hard to hold the two thoughts at once. If now is okay, I mean, how can the future be so terrible?

If you don't want to use a stamp you sure can post your Myra's great stuff right here!

Chilly morning

My host has  a tomato plant and I covered it up with a sheet last night just to make sure there was no frost damage.  It smells just like a tomato.  She's a southern lady and is waiting for her real tomatoes until they are properly ripe.  It's going to be good.  I went for an interview last week.  The interview went well and I really loved the guys but they thought I wasn't properly geeky enough and chose another.  They liked my personality though.  I hope I can make a connection soon.  I have been out of work for far too long.  I really want to get back out there and make some money and enrich some company with my startling brilliance.

I didn't even get a call for an interview this week.  Very disappointing.  I still have a couple more days.   I have more than a week here, and then I will have to find a new spot to rest.  I am getting to know people very well when I stay with them.  I hope that the work stuff works out fairly quickly.  I'd like to get on to the working stage of this transition!

I Have landed and it is good.

I am here at a friends house using her computer.  I have my own little house and wireless access after I fix it up.  The beach is within walking distance if I ever get that far.  I feel kind of happy which is a surprise.  It's a relief to have all my things in boxes waiting for me to grab a parachute so it can all be moved somewhere.  I wasn't expecting to be so relieved.  Ha!

Job offers!!! Bring them on!

But I long to know what I say.. I wake up with a sore throat... Alex claims that it doesn't make any sense...  I need a tape recorder.

I am moving out and into staying with friends until I can afford my own place.  I announced this at chuch and people are willing to take me in.  My first spot is a guest house near the beach for a couple of weeks... Alex is keeping the car, which I am not happy about, but hopefully something can be done about that..  My brother is working on that.  He's a wonderful schemer so maybe I won't be home less and car less.

I hope that my employment situation changes soon.  I have my income still and if I could increase that by working I would really love it.  If anyone has suggestions and resources I might need please let me know.  I have a PO box now and my phone will be continuing to work..  email will continue so you will still be able to find me...

I just got a call about a job.. So if you could send a prayer my way that would be nice.

A cold weather feature...

My VW has indicator lights.  I thought I'd seen them all, but today for the first time ever.. Our Jetta sprouted a SNOWFLAKE..  I thought it was the car telling me,  "Hey find a garage somewhere, It's friken cold out here!"  Well I looked it up and apparently I was close.  The flake comes up to remind us to watch for ice and slippery road conditions.  Apparently It shows up at 39 degrees because Ice particles can form on bridges at that temperature due to windchill above and below.

Poor car stuck outside in the cold.  She's a Florida car.  She doesn't understand this weather!  So a word to the wise is, even if it's almost 40 degrees out, there can still be ice on the bridges.  Who knew?  (My car knew!)  LOL
